What began in Northampton, England in 1966 has grown into an international workwear brand serving customers across the UK and Europe while still staying true to the values the business was built on: quality, reliability, durability, and real workwear for real workers.
Unlike many large corporate suppliers, VELTUFF® was built with a direct focus on the end user. From the early days of the brand, the business challenged traditional industry models by supplying directly to customers, cutting out the middleman and delivering dependable workwear at competitive prices.
Today, VELTUFF® operates across multiple European markets, with headquarters in the UK and Denmark, as well as offices throughout France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

The VELTUFF® Journey
1966 — Where It All Began
The Calder family established BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd in Northampton, England, laying the foundations for what would later become the VELTUFF® brand.
With decades of industry experience, the business quickly became recognised for supplying quality safety and protective workwear.
1996 — The Launch of VELTUFF®
VELTUFF® Real Workwear was officially introduced as a workwear brand manufactured by BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd.
The brand was developed with a focus on durable, functional workwear designed for real working conditions.
2002 — Expansion in Northampton
Following the early success of VELTUFF®, BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd expanded operations by purchasing larger office and warehouse facilities in Northampton, England.
This expansion supported the continued growth of the business and increased operational capacity.
2003 — Expansion into Denmark
VELTUFF® expanded beyond the UK when Jim Calder, eldest son of Lewis Calder, moved to Denmark with his family to establish operations outside the UK market.
The Danish business originally began from a garage in Lyngby and would later become a key part of the VELTUFF® business across Scandinavia and Europe.
2013 — Continued Growth in Denmark
As demand continued to increase, VELTUFF® invested in new office and warehouse facilities in Brøndby, Denmark.
This expansion helped strengthen logistics, warehousing, and customer support capabilities across the region.
2014 — Entering the Swedish Market
VELTUFF® opened a sales office in Stockholm, Sweden, continuing the brand’s expansion throughout Europe and increasing its focus on the Scandinavian market.
2015 — Expansion into the Netherlands
The BENELUX division was established as VELTUFF® continued growing across mainland Europe.
With a growing international team, the business expanded its ability to supply major companies operating across multiple European countries.
2016 — Celebrating 50 Years
BACA Safety & Workwear Ltd celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Colleagues from across Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UK came together to celebrate five decades of growth, partnerships, and commitment to the workwear industry.
2017 — New Danish Headquarters
VELTUFF® continued investing in growth with the opening of a larger Danish headquarters, alongside modernised warehousing and upgraded IT systems designed to improve delivery capacity and operational efficiency.
2017 — Expansion into Germany and France
As new opportunities emerged across Europe, VELTUFF® opened offices in both Germany and France, strengthening its local presence and customer support capabilities across key European markets.
2019 — Further Expansion in Northampton
To support continued business growth, VELTUFF® expanded warehouse operations once again in Northampton with the purchase of an additional warehouse facility close to the company headquarters.
2020 — Expansion into Northern England
VELTUFF® opened a new shop and showroom in Preston, Lancashire, helping strengthen support for customers across the North of England.
2021 — Launch of VELTUFF® Online
The launch of the VELTUFF® UK Website and VELTUFF® Global Website marked another major milestone for the business, creating a platform for customers across Europe to explore the full VELTUFF® range online.

Today, VELTUFF® continues to supply durable workwear, hi-vis clothing, waterproof workwear, safety footwear, and PPE to workers and businesses across Europe.
